Cookie & Privacy Preferences Policy

Last updated: October 2026 • Applies to simracingnation.com & directory.simracingnation.com

1. Unified Domain Coverage & What Cookies Are

This Cookie & Privacy Preferences Policy applies across the Sim Racing Nation network, including simracingnation.com (www.simracingnation.com) and the Sim Racing Directory at directory.simracingnation.com, both operated by Sim Racing Nation / Sector One Ventures in Canada.

Cookies are small text files stored in your web browser, and local storage allows your browser to save interface preferences and bookmarked gear directly on your device. Because our main website and directory share the same root domain (.simracingnation.com), your cookie consent choice is saved once across the entire domain so you are not prompted repeatedly when moving between our sites.

2. Cookie & Local Storage Categories We Use

We follow GDPR, ePrivacy, CCPA, and Canadian PIPEDA standards. You can accept all categories, decline non-essential categories, or customize your preferences at any time:

A. Strictly Necessary Cookies & Storage (Always Active)

Required for core website navigation, form spam protection, directory search, anti-scraping security, and remembering your privacy consent across simracingnation.com and directory.simracingnation.com.

                • srn_cookie_consent_v1 (Root domain .simracingnation.com cookie & localStorage • 12 months): Stores your unified cookie consent preferences.

                • srn_human_verified (First-party security cookie • 7 days): Protects directory search and company profiles from automated bot scraping.

                • srn_esports_auth_token (Session/localStorage • 30 days): Used strictly by authorized SRN Esports team members when signed into the team dashboard.

B. Preferences & Saved Lists (Optional)

Remembers your interface choices, filter selections, dark or light theme, media player state, and locally saved directory bookmarks without requiring a user account.

                • srn_saved_directory_listings & srn_custom_lists_v1 (localStorage • Persistent): Stores your bookmarked companies, wishlists, and custom gear lists on your device.

                • srn_directory_theme & srn_compare_queue_* (localStorage • Persistent): Remembers your Dark/Light theme and hardware comparison queue.

                • srn_media_player_state_v9 & srn_media_player_queue_v9 (localStorage • Persistent): Remembers docked media player volume, minimize state, and queue.

                • srn_newsletter_subscribed & srn_modal_dismissed (Cookie / storage): Remembers if you have already subscribed to our newsletter or dismissed the signup bar during your session.

C. Analytics & Performance (Optional)

Provides anonymous, aggregated metrics on page load speeds, search responsiveness, article readership, and popular hardware categories across both websites so we can keep pages fast and fix broken links. No personal identities or cross-site ad profiles are created.

D. Embedded Media & Partner Referral Links

Sim Racing Nation does not run third-party advertising trackers or sell data to ad brokers. Pages across our websites include embedded video players (such as YouTube race broadcasts and hardware showcases) and outbound links or discount codes to partner manufacturers. Outbound partner links only operate when you click them to visit an external store, where that store's own privacy and cookie policy applies.

3. Changing Your Preferences

You can review or update your shared cookie preferences for both simracingnation.com and directory.simracingnation.com at any time by clicking the button below or selecting "Cookie Preferences" in the footer of any page.
